Forensic Engineering

Our forensic analysis techniques include experimental design and execution, data collection, analysis of exemplar products, interpretation of x-ray, CT, SEM and EDS images and data. Litigation Support
FJT will analyze the technical facts of your case and provide an interpretation of that analysis that will help you make prudent legal decisions. We provide admissible reports, testimony at deposition, and in the courtroom. We will assist with discovery requests, deposition strategy, and questions.
Forensic Investigation Services
Residential Electrical Investigations
Our team has performed over 700 residential investigations and is experienced at determining fire causation from product and appliance failures, defective workmanship, and electromechanical defects. We also provide assessments of damage to residential electrical systems from lightning and distribution system faults.
Electrical Shock, Electrocution and Arc Flash Investigations
Our training and knowledge of workplace electrical safety, OSHA, CFR, and NFPA 70E requirements combine well with our experience working in shipyards and other dangerous environments and performing procedures like lockout, tagout, and energized work approvals in practice.
Commercial / Industrial Electrical Investigations
We leverage our knowledge of industrial equipment, also born out of our Navy experience, to investigate commercial and industrial fires and accidents. In addition to fire cause determination, we have classified types of damage for insurance adjustors and made recommendations based on our equipment condition assessment after accidents in commercial and industrial facilities.
Marine Fire Investigations
With 30 years experience operating and maintaining boats, and combined 80+ years experience working on shipboard systems for the navy, our team thrives in the marine environment. Other relevant capabilities include a Coast Guard Issued Captain’s license and Advanced Open Water Scuba Certification.
Vehicular Investigations
Our training and experience in automotive design, maintenance, and repair give us insight into automotive fire investigations, lemon law investigations, defective workmanship, and vehicle design and manufacturing defects. We have handled cases involving motorcycles, automobiles, construction vehicles, earth-moving equipment, and recreational vehicles.
